Why Attend SDN Foundations Workshop?
Software-Defined Networking (SDN) is an emerging architecture that is dynamic, manageable, cost-effective, and adaptable, making it ideal for the high-bandwidth, dynamic nature of today’s applications.
SDN Foundations workshop provides insights into the motivation for SDN by highlighting the present networking challenges, discuss on the popular Open flow architecture which is a building block of SDN solutions. It further explains the design choices and flexibility for components like switches and controllers within SDN framework, understand performance considerations and few vendor specific implementations. It includes the hands-on exercises by simulating a virtual open flow network with Mininet, see the basic open flow messages and operations with wireshark, write and test the controller application to act as hub, controller based switch and then the flow based switch. It finally provides an overview on SDN use cases already in production in Data center, WAN and Enterprise networks. For further details, please refer to the detailed course outline.
